Day 18 - Boots

Yup, today you get to see my current favorite boots. I'm not one of those shoe buying girls who have loads and loads of shoes though, so don't expect a girly story. Let's just say that there are are few things I hate more that going shopping. At least with clothes I can shop online, but shoes are an other story. Shoes have to be comfortable in a whole different way, and for that reason, when I find shoes I like, I wear them until they fall apart!

I remember a pair of boots (sort of like these) that I had way back. They were the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn, including slippers! When they "died" I wished I had bought a dozen of them so that I would always have a pair :)

    Isn't it typical? Today, they died - the heel broke on the left one, buhuhuhuhuuuuu! I must have jinxed it yesterday...

    So sorry you lost your best shoes. I am like you - I also hate shopping and I find it very hard to get shoes that fit, so I should also buy two when I find a good pair. Never do though, of course.

    Great shot with lovely diagonal and lighting and the texture in the leather is great. Nice work.

    A nice take on the subject -- and lots of diagonals are never wrong. The flash from the camera gives the scene a investigative character.

    Your light shows off all the straps and buckles well. The tilt makes them look like the "boots that are made for walking".

    I'm blessed to have a good shoemaker only one village away who has repaired several of my favorite footware.

    Oh my goodness you sound like me, hate to shop, and darned if they don't usually discontinue something you finally find that you really like! BTW They surely don't show that they have been worn :)

      I like to take good care of them, so that they last, and they've been though some standard touch up too ;)

    I am exactly the same! I have a few pairs that I like wearing, I certainly don't like to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on them!
    And when I find ones I really like, I buy a couple of pairs :)
    I'm not a fan of the light on these ones, I think maybe more of a side lighting would have worked a little better? But I do like the subject matter :D

    OH NO your poor boots,I hope they are repairable as they still look to have many miles left in them. It looks like the shopping and photography gene don't exist together!
    Nice shot that makes them look like new. Black and white and great idea.
