Speaking of color. I sometimes get the question "what is your favorite color?" But I never have an answer to that. I like a lot of colors, but none more than the other. I'm drawn to color combinations instead. A color on its own is boring. Several together are a lot more interesting. However, there are just too many combinations to chose from for me to pick just one. So, this time, as so very often when I shoot brown things, I'm not satisfied with what I get and have to tweak a things bit to get the combinations right.

I like it and have to confess I often take the browner and more boring and make them warmer and more interesting too. Hey, you are the artist and you are not attempting to simply show exactly what you saw but instead either what you feel or want to feel. That's good. If we wanted everything to simply be true representations, we'd simply put everything on automatic and send out monkeys to do the job.

DeleteThis would have been a perfect shot for Marga's theme - What does this make you think of? It makes me think of a salmon swimming upstream, or someone following the beat of his own drummer. So what if it's Fall, that little plant wants to grow...NOW! Nice capture of this little vignette of nature.

DeleteI love brown leaves, especially when they are a little bit frozen in winter, I love the cracking sound ;) Also when they are dry in autumn I love to walk through them and occasionally kick a bit around.

DeleteHaha, you remind me of a vacation I took...to a place where everything was green, and filled with their state bird the mosquito running rampant in every shady spot. When I came home I said brown, brown, wonderful brown. Sometimes ya just gotta love what you have.

DeleteI don't actually mind brown in photos, so long as it's done un-boringly (which you've done)! I wouldn't have thought you tweaked the colours, it looks how I'd imagine them sitting on the ground. The brown interspersed with green definitely does make it more interesting. My favourite colour is probably still purple, but I find I also like colour combinations.
