Day 12 - "The Find"

As I searched for things to shoot today, I found this little beauty; a lantern. I bought it for practically nothing a while back when I discovered a gift certificate was almost outdated. It was love at first sight haha.

I'm ill today, and therefore I'm relieved to have found this to shoot without having to go very far. The lighting caught my eye and the blue against that red was just to my taste. I hope you like it too. Now to some breakfast, and a cup of steaming hot ginger tea.

  1. I wanted to add something but deleted it instead ! This is a very interesting piece. I'd love to know its history. You've captured the markings on the lantern really well and the combination of those two colours is fantastic.
I really hope you feel better soon - gotta plod on to the end of the month which seems a long way down the track..

    1. Thank you :). I've rather gotten used to going everywhere with my camera. I've started to carry it over my shoulder, like a handbag, when weather permits :). I guess it will feel weird when the challenge is over.

  2. Lovely colour combinations and I like the ornate bits on the lantern. The fantastic red looks very cool! The colour accents in your poster look fantastic!

    (And get better soon!)

  3. Lovely combo of colors, but to me it's more of an orange than red... but that makes it better IMO! :)

  4. I'm sure I commented on this earlier. I remember because the colours really hit me.
One of life's many little mysteries. I love the colour combination and you have brought out the pattern on the lantern beautifully.

  5. Such interesting details, and actually being in the corner adds to this one.

  6. I love the color of the lamp against the wall, but I don't consider this to be an abstract. Nice though. Eury

    1. Thanks, I was a bit hesitant as to its abstractness too, but I didn't have energy to shoot anything else (I was a bit under the weather), and I didn't have anything from that day that I liked more, so I chose it despite my doubts. I'm glad you like it anyway :)

  7. I like how the corner in the wall defines depth to this shot which takes it beyond just shooting any object.
